Ha.worth., covering Lots 25., 26 and 27., Block 10, Hermosa Beach Tract., situated at 901 Hermosa Avenue, for an exception to the provi5ions of Ordinance No. N" S. 8 to pannit .fabrioa.tion and assembly of' proc.ucts made from a material called polyurethane foarn11 necessitating perm..-tsaion for light manufacturing in a commercial zone. Mro Haworth and Mr. Kovnick., lessee~ spoke in behalf of the petit:i.on. Ur. T. Lo ~lton said, if there was not undue noise, he favored the petitiono Conm. Fisher moved tha.t the Planning Commission recommend to the City Co,mcil that thie specific property, now zoned as C.-3JI be allow·ed. a use for the purpose or fabricating and assembling products made fran polyurethane f'oam. under such terms a.nd conditions a.s the City Council may deem proper under these special Cll'C1.D11Stances, for the reason that this is necessary for the enjoyment of a sub3ta.ntial property-right in view of the fact that the building is of large proportions and not designed for general canmercial uae. The motion wa& sGConded by Comm. Dlack. Cmm. Viault1 voting again~t the motion~ stated that ample parking space for employees should be assured be.fore allowing the petition. Cobabe, covering Lot 1, Tract #5650, si-wated at 1030 Ninth Street, requesting permission to install a bar sink in rumpus room and to extend a. reinforced concrete stairway into the required front yard per pl.ans on.file in the Building Department. P..r. Cobabe spoke in behalf' of his petition. Comm. Black moved that the petition be granted for the reason that the re-quests are not detrimental and are for the preservation and enjoyment or a substantial property right possessed by other property owners in the same vicinity:. Via.ult moved that the petition to build the garage to both aides of the property line be denied for the reason that such construction does not provide the necessary clearance for fire or habitable property adjacent. The motion was seconded by-Comm. 14:cMahon, and Resolution tro. PC 94 was adopted by the i'ollot-rillg vote: AYES; Comn. Haneman, V:t.ault, ?.!cHahon, Fisher and Dlack and Chairman Dennie. REQU!ST FOR OPINION ON CHILD CARE CENTm The request from the License Collector for an opinion as to whether or not t.he operation or a child care center at 221.1 Hemoea Avenue would be permissible. which request had been held over £ran the pz-evious meeting, was considered. Ur. ma.ck moved that the property is not adequate for use as a child care center and that pe~ion for such use be denied. Cof{in. Fisher moved that, ths Planning Commission recommend to tha Gity Council that Resolution No. N.
