Other considerations. For the past several years the city has had a juvenile police problem in the area. The general plan shows the location to be part of a retail shopping area . The city is preparing a precise plan :for redevelopment of the block northerly of block in which the premises is located. Recommendation: An oral report from the Police Chief to the City Planner indicated that the Department is conducting an in-depth study. A written report will not be ready for the December 1 meeting. Th The Public hearing should be opened, testimony taken, including. - A statement Mrom the applicants as to what specific entertainment will be provided (a recent urgency ordinance of the City Council now requires a Conditional Use Permit for all entertainment). This should also be sub- mitted in writing. A plot plan of the proposed building and the interior design has not been submitted at this time. Such plot playa should be obtained at said hearing. The written consent of the owner of the property has not been sub- mitted at this time. This consent roust be obtained before the matter can legally be considered by the city. This consent should be presented at or prior to the hearing. Crawford, City Planner The above -named persons have submitted an application for a Conditional Use Permit in order to sell beer and provide entertainment on promises located at 1332 Strand (lots 5 and a portion of 6, Block 14, Hermosa Beach Tract). Pursuant to standing instructions of the Planning Commission, I am hereby requesting an analysis by your Department of the request and its most probable effect on the city and the surrounding neighborhood, from the; viewpoint of your Depattment The public hearing is scheduled for December 1, 1969, 7:30 P. m.
