C. 154-758 A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF HERMOSA BEACH RECOMMENDING AN AMEND- MENT TO CITY ZONING ORDINANCE N.S. 154, AS RELA- TED TO MINIMUM DWELLING UNIT SIZES. WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission of Hermosa Beach, at public hearings extending over a period of approximately nine months, did con- sider the question of establishing minimum dwelling unit sizes; and WHEREAS, during the course of those hearings various builders and con- tractors now constructing dwellings in the city have indicated that the recom- mended standards are reasonable minimums; and WHEREAS, in the opinion of the Planning Commission the present standards are inadequate and encourage the construction of substandard dwelling units; and WHEREAS, it has been determined by the Planning Commission through studies extending over nine months, that this minimum dwelling unit area is feasible and desirable to protect the health, safety and general welfare of the city, and within the jurisdiction of the Planning Commission to recommend to the City Council as a necessary means to maintain the present quality of develop- ment; NOW,THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION hereby approves, and recommends that the City Council adopt, the following ordinance amending N. S. 154, adding Section 1208, relating to minimum dwelling unit size: The foregoing Resolution was adopted by the Planning Commission at a regu- lar meeting held on the 1st of December, 19 69 , by the following vote: AYES: Comm. Collis, Himmel, Mulfinger, Chairman Noble. NOES: None ABSENT: Comm.
