C. 154-761 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION OF HERMOSA BEACH DENYING THE REQUEST OF JACK BLISS AND DON LEE FOR A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT FOR PROPERTY LOCATED AT 1332 STRAND. WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission of Hermosa Beach, at a public hearing held December 1 and December 15, 19 69 , considered the request of Jack Bliss and Don Lee for a Conditional Use Permit in order to sell alcoholic beverages and provide entertainment on lot 5 and a portion of lot 6, Block 14, Hermosa Beach Tract, located at 1332 Strand; and WHEREAS, at said public hearings the Commission considered the six required factors listed in Section 801 (4) (2) of Ordinance N.S. 154, as amended; and WHEREAS, the Commission also considered the applicants proposed build- ing modifications intended to reduce the negative impact of the proposed use on the neighborhood; and WHEREAS, the Commission considered the proposed use in relation to the General Plan, public and private investment in new residences in the area, police problems past, present and projected from similar uses in the site area; and WHEREAS, after due consideration of the various facts, it is the opinion of the Planning Commission that the proposed use is incompatible with exist- ing uses at this location at this time, and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission recognizes the validity of the analysis of the Chief of Police that the proposed use would increase police problems and overtax the understaffed police force to the detriment of the entire city; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Planning Commission of Her- mosa Beach hereby denies the subject request. The foregoing Resolution was adopted by the Planning Commission at a regu- lar meeting held on the 15th of December, 1969, by the following vote: AYES: Comm. Collis, Mulfinger, Watters , Noble.
