ACTIVITY REPORT
o The City's first public relations effort re. animal
control, a citywide pet show, was held last Saturday.
It was a very good first time event, was videoed and
will be re -run on Channel 10 on May 30 and June'6.
o The boatyard project, "The Mooring" has drawn its
final permits. Active construction will be visible
later this month.
o Demolition of the "Thompson Property" should commence
about May 21 with the formal ground breaking set for
4 p.m., May 23rd.
o The Hermosa Beach: Community; Center.: Theatrehas °:been
designatedas:: a 1984- Los- Angeles Conservancy Preserva-
tion
reservation Awardee. Each year six awards are presented to
recognize and honor outstanding contributions to the
field of historic preservation through restoration,
rehabilitation and renovation.
o Arrangements have been with the California Conserva-
tion Corps to assist in a landscaping project on
Gould Avenue. Work sill start in a few weeks.
