On Friday, November 15, 1974 at 10:30 a.m. a representative
of the Southern California Electrical Sign Association will
be at Chamber of Commerce to meet with interested_ persons -
City Manager to set up meeting date and time so members of
Planning/Improvement Commission can have workshop session
with this representative and others. { 1:1z-
to refer the letter dated November 6, 1974 from Dr. Andrew M. Joyce,
District Superintendent, Hermosa Beach City School District, setting
forth an offer from the Hermosa Beach Board of Education of proper-
ties for sale to the City of Hermosa Beach at prices equal to the
quoted appraised market values as of October 21, 1974 to the Council
Subcommittee, on School Sites and direct the subcommittee to meet
with the School District committee as soon as possible. Doerfling,

Note: Councilman Widman remarked that one of the recommendations
of the Downtown Committee had been for such sidewalk exten-
sions at Pier Avenue and Hermosa Avenue. Was told such
plans were already prepared - however, no action taken on this.

" (b) Councilman Doerfling reported re meeting of himself, and Council -
persons Barks, Tyson and Widman with Supervisor Hayes to discuss
problems and reopen lines of communication.
(c) Councilwoman Tyson reported that due to unforeseen circumstances
the visitors from Loreto had to cancel their visit scheduled for
November 15 - probably January, 1975.
(d) Councilman Barks requested that staff report to Council "on
ways we could possibly streamline city government; make it more
efficient possibly some of the items that have to go before
certain commissions now could be consolidated and handled by
one commission - try to stop any overlapping - so people could
accomplish what they want in the fastest possible manner
Said report to be submitted to Council after a reasonable period
of time."
