to the zoning changes introduced above - and also to investigate
possible amendments to the R-2, R -2B and R-3 Zones to cope with
problem caused by sub -acreage lots. All of Council agreed to
this with exception of Councilman Doerfling.
2. to continue the public hearing on the appeal of Messrs. Michael
Hite and Earl Verrill from denial by Planning Commission Resolution
P.C. 154-869, adopted February 26, 1973, of their application for a
conditional use permit for amusement machines in their gift and
record shop loaated at 323 Pier Avenue to the next regular meeting

Councilman Bigo requested info re what steps were. being taken
re this problem, and was informed by City Manager that ticketing
of parked cars would continue.
c. Mayor Valdes informed the Council that Dr. Lokka of City School
District had requested joint meeting of Board of Trustees and
City Council, and Council agreed on Tuesday, March 27, 1973 at
7:30 p.m. in Council Chamber, City Hall. 47
d. Mayor Valdes announced •appointment of Sgt..Doukakis to position
of Lieutenant in Police Department and outlined his background and
experience in police work; stated he would announce appointment of
two new sergeants at next meeting. Stated professionalism in law
enforcement is the goal of city administration and the department.
Also informed public that four new patrolmen would forthwith be
appointed from eligibility list.
6. (Request from committee member Bernard Whitney for clarification of
duties of Citizen Advisory Committee on Housing - Mr. Whitney not

7. (Citizens Advisory Committee on Housing stated position that adver-
tising for replacement of Building Director should proceed immediately
in order to fill position as of July 1, 1973 new fiscal year. No
