Commerce regarding future improvements to Fiesta Hermosa;
2. Approve the one-year contract through 2018 between the City of Hermosa Beach and the
Chamber of Commerce to provide Fiesta Hermosa and community events, with the following
amendment:
a. Add paragraph m to Section 1 of the contract to state that the Chamber shall exercise its
best efforts to implement Measures I, II and III, set forth in Exhibit A attached hereto and
incorporated herein by reference (thereby including the Subcommittee recommendations
on key issues as specified in the staff report); and
3. Approve the Council subcommittee's efforts to continue as an ad hoc committee, with the
intent of partnering with the Chamber of Commerce and other stakeholders in assessing the
progress of these improvements over the next two Fiestas; and

OF RESEARCH AND RECOMMENDATIONS PROVIDED BY THE
PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION IN 2015 WITH RELEVANT
UPDATES, AS NEEDED, 3) PRODUCE A COMPREHENSIVE
ACTION PLAN AND TIMELINE TO EFFECTIVELY ADDRESS THIS
ISSUE.

COAST AIR QUALITY MANAGEMENT DISTRICT THROUGH THE
RULE 1410 PROCESS THAT THE TORRANCE REFINERY
REPLACE HYDROFLUORIC ACID WITH A SAFE ALTERNATIVE
WITHIN FOUR YEARS, AND THAT THE CITY COUNCIL DIRECT THE
CITY MANAGER TO RECOMMEND ACTION, IF ANY, TO ENSURE
THAT HERMOSA BEACH IS PREPARED IN THE EVENT OF A
RELEASE OF HYDROFLUORIC ACID FROM THE TORRANCE
REFINERY.
