Option #2 — Relocate Library to Community Center; Repurpose Existing Library Building; New City Yard; Expand Police Station; Renovate City Hall and Community Center. Option #3 — Relocate Library to Base 3; Repurpose Existing Library Building; New City Yard; Expand Police Station and Renovate City Hall and Community Center. COUNCIL QUESTIONS/COMMENTS/DIRECTION City of Hermosa Beach Page 2 of 3 Approved on 10/09/2018 City Council Adjourned Meeting Minutes October 4, 2017 The City Council discussed policy considerations (relocation of the Library, and the issue of "renovation vs. rebuild" for City Hall and the Police Station), and opportunities for upgrading the City's civic facilities. Topics included: 1. The Library, wherever located, must be in a safe and prominent site with increased parking, and no loss of open space if moved to the Community Center property; 2. First priority is the City Yard, since it is most in need of renovation; 3. Consider the storage facility and Base 3 for alternative uses; and 4. A parking element, including the most and least cost effective, is needed when the issue comes back to allow for an informed decision.
